Diagnosis
Body pear shaped, adults dark brown, nymphs light greenish yellow with head light brown. Antennae brown, gradually darker towards apex. Abdominal dorsum with median region smooth but dark patch between siphunculi. Siphunculi shorter and processus terminalis longer than antennal segment III. The species is distinguishable from its congenerics under the subgenus in having many dorsal hairs on abdomen.
The aphid was found to make colonies only on younger leaves near mid-rib. It is known to occur mainly on plants belonging to Annonaceae and rare on Myrtaceae.
